Purpose and activities of the ALIO
Promote the progress of operations research and its application in decision-making processes in Latin Ibero America through contact and free exchange of information between academics, professionals, and managers who carry out their activities in the region.
Regularly organize the Latin-Ibero-American Congress of Operations Research (CLAIO).
Promote Latin American communication of operations research in a predominantly Portuguese and Spanish language.
Sponsor training in operations research and trying to raise its quality.
Promote the application of operations research methods
Promote academic research in operations research.
Maintain relationships with international organizations and entities dedicated to the discipline of operations research such as IFORS.
Promote the development of operations research in Latin Ibero America and the formation of national operations research societies, in all its countries.
Regularly organize the Latino-Ibero-American School of Operations Research (ELAVIO), rotating its location.
